A-D: Tau tangles (black dots) detected by machine learning algorithm in high resolution digital pathology images taken post-mortem of brain tissue in the medial temporal lobe (MTL) and mapped to 3D space of MRI where global distributions of tau tangle pathology are computed across 2D tissue sections within whole 3D structures of MTL including amygdala, entorhinal cortex (ERC), and regions of the hippocampus, which are affected in early Alzheimer’s Disease.
